After running this site for several months, it suddenly occurred to me that, although I analyze and make references to it often, I have never specified the story I'm referring to. Even though I can't imagine what you'd be doing here if you weren't already familiar with the story of Final Fantasy VII -- though the spin-offs could get confusing -- I figured I should probably write a brief summary and introduction to it just to be sure we're all on the same page.
Although I don't want to dictate the events of the games and films in their entirety (that should be something you experience through playing it yourself. And I just don't want to write that much), I will give a brief overview of key points that are discussed frequently throughout this shrine. My goal here is to sway away from the analytical perspective of the rest of the shrine and just give you the facts so that the essays in other sections can be further understood.
If you are completely new to Mr. Strife, I would recommend reading the "appearances" section first. This will give you an idea of what Cloud has been in without spoiling anything. I highly recommend at least playing the original FFVII yourself before browsing the rest of the site.
